LO Magazine: The Final Issue
Permalink Closed

I unfortunately have bad news for everyone, but I thought I should officially tell you guys and girls first. The May issue will be the final issue of LO Magazine. Due to work and trying to study more, so that I can actually have a real job, I had to give up my time which was used to create LO Magazine.

It has been a wonderful two years and I'm really honored to have met you all. While LO Magazine will stop to continue for now, I will still be in the background trying to promote anime through various publications.

Speaking of other publications. It seems that NAG has dropped the Anime Lifestyle section for this month, without informing me why and if this is permanent. This came as a bit of a shock to me and I will keep you updated on this regard.

If this is not just a mean and twisted April fools Joke, then I am truly sad.

I will miss reading LO, and do hope that once you are settled down, you will give the mag a second attempt.

If it is any consolation, I will be launching a new anime website ( www.animeclub.za.org ) on 1 May 2006, and I hope that all the LO members will Join.

Membership will be free, and members will be able to submit articles that will be available to all on the world wide web. The new site will include a discussion forum like this one, as well as a chat room.

This has been in the pipeline for a long time, but in light of the sad demise of LO, I have brought-forward my deadline in the hopes that the new site will help keep this excellent community of anime fanatics together.

Bone, I hope that you join the site, and when the bug bite's, write an article or two.

I humbly bow in thanks for all that you have done for the anime community.

Hehe
I completely forgot about telling the meaning of LO. ;)

Maybe we should have a competition. I will organise one at the end of the month when the final issue appears.

Btw Sharingan, this forum will stay so you are welcome to still post here. most of you discuss anime & manga in general not the mag itself, so there is no reason why you couldn't continue.

Indeed... I'm still in shock after reading Bone's post. I wish you the best of success in your future ventures, Bone. The magazine, and anime, community with sorely miss your work.

Woohoo... that's great to read. It's no LOMag but it's the LOMag forum. That bit of information softens the blow but will never replace the mag... waits in anticipation for the return of LO.

Now that you have, nothing compares...

Sorry to hear the mags coming to an end (hey, I'll finally be able to catch up ); Nice to hear the forum will still be around...

Anyway - all the best with the studies/work (been there, done that and aim to do so again from next year - so I know how little time this can leave). Don't be a stranger.

Well the final issue is now out :'( tis a very sad day indeed. On a good note, at least I don't have to waste R40 every month on that other mag :)

I hope so! Maybe then they'll see how important anime is. Until then, I now have an extra R40 every month! Yay!

Bones I'm sorry to see that the run of LOmag has come to a end. I have been away for quiet a long time as was sad to see the message on the front page of the last mag.

Bones thanks for everything you did for anime in SA and for all your hard work to give us this fantastic mag.
Good luck with the studies and mayit work out for you.

yeah, i agree. only 5 demos and 1 movie this month and NO anime content except the last issue of LO mag. How depressing . And the worst thing is that most of the other movies and content were actually hidden on the dvd!
